Project Overview
A story worth telling shows cause and effect, helps explain, helps the viewer interpret, reports on something, shows evidence, and allows viewers to learn something/teach something. It gets audiences from A to B. For this project, students will build on the knowledge acquired from previous projects to tell a story worth telling.
This was a partner project, my partner was Megan Feeney.

Process
Phase I (Research): In groups, conduct secondary research on your chosen topic.

Phase II (Knowledge Map): As a group, organize information gathered from research onto a 20” x 33” knowledge map.

Phase III (Ideation): Individually brainstorm different ways in which the knowledge map could be synthesized as a kinetic visualization.

Phase IV (Narrative Script): Write a cohesive narrative script for your kinetic visualization informed by the knowledge map.
Phase V (Storyboard): Create a full storyboard based on the narrative script.
Phase VI (Create/Curate Resources): Curate and create a library of resources (images, sounds, videos, vector graphics, etc)

Phase VII (Production): Use After Effects/Premiere to produce the final kinetic visualization.
Reflection
Megan and I had a pretty good understanding of what we wanted our topic to be from the beginning. We created a timeline of how we wanted our information to play in our video. I really like the approach we took because it gave us both a good understanding from the beginning and it felt like we were on the same page for most of the project. It did take us awhile to narrow down a video format that we wanted, which was a bit stressful because we didn’t start on our video right away. I really like how we went through our script beforehand and decided roughly where we wanted the animations to take place. For me nothing was too challenging for this final project. I felt prepared. I think part of that had to do with the topic Megan and I chose to do, I was really invested into what we were covering in our video. I continued to learn that the more you practice something the easier it will become. I think between our past projects and the LinkedIn learning videos I got a lot of valuable practice in.
